What has become of us?

According to a new pew poll, 56 percent of us don't care if the government spies on us at all.

What should I expect, when it seems to be like all most of America cares about anymore is it's new phone upgrade and who's on reality TV.

Currently, 62 percent say it is more important for the federal government to investigate possible terrorist threats, even if that intrudes on personal privacy.

But, the government didn't catch the shoe bomber until it was almost too late and what about the Boston bombers, all this and we missed it.

I think 29-year-old Edward Snowden is to be commended.

I had to soul search to see how I really did feel about him.

But, as far as I know, he never gave any secrets out, he just told us what was really going on in our country.

Stuff I would have never dreamed about.

Diane Fienstine is calling him a traitor.

I think as long as she and I are on opposite ends of any argument, I can live with myself.

Our founding fathers were called traitors too.

Thomas Jefferson said this, "I predict future happiness for Americans, if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."

But, the best is from Ben Franklin, "Those who sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither."

Right now, all we care about is being comfortable while our liberty bleeds out from our pop culture-driven lifeless body.

That's my point of view, what's yours?

Neal said : "I think 29-year-old Edward Snowden is to be commended." Well Neal it turns out that you and those who agree with you support a communist!" HONG KONG - Edward Snowden, a former contractor for the National Security Agency charged with espionage, was allowed to leave Hong Kong on Sunday, the South China Morning Post newspaper earlier reported that Snowden had left on a flight for Moscow. http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/06/23/19098016-hong-kong-governm...

snowden did not divulge anything new...it has been known for decades that surveillance was conducted and, even today, news was reported that Britain bugged a meeting with major players from around the world a few years ago. For the US intelligence community to keep this country safe from terrorists, both domestic and foreign, it must at all times try to stay ahead of attacks...the # of government requests for more detailed info from providers is actually miniscule, numbering less than 30,000.

Again this bun of liberal democrats getting on Neil's back. if you don't like the point of view, express yours but Neil is right most of the time. I think you Obama supporters are a bunch of crack heads. he will goe down in history as one of the worst presidents ever and these scandals whould get him impeached but they won't because he is black. His is effectively useless when it comes to passing any of his policies, gun control, immigration reform, New taxes, and Healthcare. Tansparency?

Anything that draws attention to whats really going on is probably a good thing. The erosion of civil liberties is a big deal. Americans honestly are not capable of making informed decisions because they aren't informed. US news coverage is a disgrace. Censorship exist at the corporate level, and at the request of government. Thank God for the internet!

Glad you corrected yourself on the second "traitor".

Neil the media Shill, "Stuff I would have never dreamed about". Yeah right. Like when KETK blacked-out Ron Paul during the last selection Neil never noticed or questioned station management why ? Or when everyone in business fears the IRS even though they are guilty of nothing, or that flying drones overhead is the new "patrol car" and Homeland Security denies us ammunition a manufacturing problem. Neal hates Feinstein because she robs the taxpayer for more than he can through his media job.

KETK did engage in censorship by omission during the republican primaries. They deliberately shut out coverage of Ron Paul. Now Neil seems to have selective memory.
