Neal Barton's POV

Some Baptists in Mecca

POV

The president's approval numbers continue to tank and what happened this weekend certainly did not help.

The president was having a Ramadan dinner with Muslims in the White House, and said he defends Muslim's right to build an Islamic center near Ground Zero in New York City , which will include a prayer space, on the grounds of religious freedom.

After all hell broke loose Saturday, the president crawfished and said he was not commenting on the wisdom of building an Islamic center two blocks from the site of the September 11 attacks, where thousands of Americans were killed by Islamic terrorists.

All this to make sure Muslims have religious freedom.

Okay...they are supposed to have a -prayer room in their center.

While they are at it, why don't they have a prayer room for fundamentalist Christians.

And while I'm at it, how many churches and synagogs are there in Saudi Arabia?

I'm sure they'd be happy to oblige us there.

Maybe in Mecca they'd be happy with a Southern Baptist welcome center.

I mean...in this time of tolerance and understanding, I am sure the president will push for that.

The most insulting thing about this is the name for the center, The Cordoba Center.

It refers to Cordoba, Spain, the capital of Muslim conquerors who symbolized their victory over the Christian Spaniards by transforming a church there into the world's third-largest mosque complex.

In the name of political correctness, we are worried about everyone's right except ours.

NEIL BARTON has a great point of view and many times he is the lone sane voice in a cacaphony of idiots

IF the president was really interested in the CONSTITUTION, perhaps he would allow manger scenes to be displayed on CHRISTIAN church property or on the privately owned yard of the CHRISTIAN taxpayer - but I doubt it -
Seems government is doing its best to take GOD and prayer out of everything they can, down to making it a "criminal offense" or possibly "hate speech" to preach what is in the BIBLE, since a lot of it disagrees with their own political agendas

The Muslims and homosexuals are getting their Constitutiional Rights, but what about we American Christians. Doesn't the Constitution refer to us also? Or does it pertain to only a select few? I will speak and stand up for God and His son Jesus any where I choose to, it is my right and I will do so.

Christians can buy property near ground zero too and build a church if they want. Nobody is stoping them.

Again, you're missing the point. It's not about the law, it is about what is right. This would be like the KKK adopting a highway in Jasper along the route that Mr. Byrd was dragged. They may have the right to do it, but it is not only in poor taste, it is insulting.

Hope y'all are not idiot fools like this Congressman from Tyler.

Typical FEAR TATICS of the Republicans and Neal Farton

Salon.com’s Justin Elliott also pointed out in a blog item titled "Why did no one object to the ‘Pentagon mosque’?" that Muslims have been holding prayer services in the Pentagon for several years.

There has never, to my understanding, been an issue as to the constitutionality of the mosque location. All parties agree the owners can build it and be on firm legal ground. It is private property. The question to me is why this is a question in which Obama chooses to involve himself. It's a no win for him and is clearly a local issue. That's not to say I'm sorry he did though. This will cause problems for the dems in Nov because of the emotional issues and that can only be good for the GOP.

The President is one of the best we've had in a long time, say what you want, but you don't have a clue to what this man is doing, he's doing his job weather you like it or not, and for the so call numbers, "Hog Wash".

You mean he's even better than the all knowing, all caring, most pious, wise and intelligent Clinton. Clinton is a nearly god-like person and Obama is even better. Why, he must be a god himself.

Right you are. I don't have a clue as to what he is doing. And neither does he. Let's go ahead and ignore the poll numbers, Let's ignore the loss of international respect. The mob with whom he has surrounded himself. The utter lack of promised transprency. The 2 goofy appointments he has made to the supreme court, the total disregard for the opinions of the American people. I can go on & on but limited space requires brevity. These issues are hardly hogwash. His term as POTUS is a failure

Looks to me like the President is upholding his oath to represent all citizens no matter what their religion is as stated in the Constitution of the United States of America.

Then why isn't he standing up for the Greek Orthodox church that was already standing near Ground Zero prior to September 11th, but still has not been allowed to be rebuilt?

He certainly is not representing the families of those who were murdered by radical Muslims on September 11th! He will jump to represent the Muslims, but not for those who died on that day, and especially not for those who willingly gave their lives (the NYPD and FDNY). These people have the right to build their mosque, but have the decency to do it a little further away and stop pouring salt in our wounds.

How can you say that he is not representing the families of those who were murdered by radical Muslims on September 11th! Like I said, there were many Muslims killed beside many Christianson 9-11. This is a Nation of Laws not emotions and if you or anyone can not control your emotions then it is you that have the problem not the nation.

Good luck with the rose colored glasses.

April 9, 2009,
President Obama and a collection of guests have also celebrated Passover with what White House officials believe to be the first Passover Seder dinner hosted by an American president. This is a Jewish dinner.
April 6, 2010
President Barack Obama on Tuesday hosted
Christian clergy and guests from churches across the nation for an Easter breakfast in the East Room at the White House.

If you idiot people would listen to what the Pesident stated you would NOT hear him say that he supports the mosque near Ground Zero, you would hear him say that he agrees with the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law. The Constitution states that as citizens, we can belong to have faith in and worship in any religion that we chose or not believe in any religion if we chose. This nation is governed on the rule of law not emotion.

Next time, try reading the POV editorial, and face the fact that this POTUS leans heavily towards Muslim rights over and above the Christian-Judeo rights that this Republic was founded upon.

Amen!
