Support local businesses

We've moved from black friday to cyber monday.

May I ask you to cyber-shop locally?

We have a lot of fine merchants here in East Texas with websites.

Please think of them first.

Trust me-I like a deal as much as anyone.

But, these people are our neighbors and they are feeling the
pinch of this economy just like we are.

Think shopping doesn't make a difference??

The main street director in lufkin put a pencil to things which was reported in
last week's lufkin daily news.

Barbara Thompson said for every $100 spent in a national chain store, $43 stays in Lufkin. Every $100 spent in locally owned independent stores shows a return of $68 to the community through taxes, payroll, and other expenditures. Spending online doesn't generate any income for the local economy, she said.

Let me add this-unless that store is local.

But, let me please ask you when you are shopping, think of the home team first.

If it's just a matter of a few bucks higher-is it not worth it to leave that dollar here?

I think it's worth it.

These folks are the people you sit with at church, coach your child's little league team and have a desire, just like you, to make East Texas a better place to live.

When you shop-please give them first consideration during the Christmas season and all year long as well.

That's my point of view, what's yours?

More importantly shop " Made In America ",,,,every dollar you save by buying the cheap Chinese version is going to cost you two dollars paying unemployment benfits to the government to support those who lose their jobs overseas to slave labor. Then consider the money the government borrows from China to pay the unemployment benefits and you begin to see the shell game where your true destruction of American wealth is hidden from you in foolish politically correct government decisions.

Ignoramus, your first sentence says; "..cost you two dollars paying unemployment benefits to the government to support those who lost their jobs.. " Your second sentence says "..consider the money government borrows from China to pay the unemployment benefits.." Which is it Einstein, are we paying unemplyment benefits or is China paying unemployment benefits? The pea in the shell game is your brain. By devaluaing the dollar we devalue the debt owed to China and pay slave wage at the same time.
