The real meaning of Christmas

tyler — The older you get, the more Christmas seems to sneak up on you every year.
My uncle used to say when you get my age, Christmas come two times a year.
I do hope you get a chance to reflect a bit more this year and enjoy your family or the ones you love to be around.
One thing that really distresses me, and I guess I should worry, but I cant help it. I see so many people I know get so stressed out.
For those of us who celebrate Christmas, it's supposed to be celebrating the birth of the savior of the world, Jesus Christ.
Instead, many of us get side tracked with presents and spending money and things that are off-base when it comes to what this is really all about.
It's about the savior and people, not stuff.
No one remembers the stuff. We do remember the people.
I think, in fact I know, many of us try and make it that perfect Christmas.
The ones we used to know when we were kids or what we see on movies about Christmas.
Remember, those perfect days of Christmas were from when we were children and it was all laid at our feet?
I bet if we could speak with our parents and grandparents about those perfect times, I'm sure we'd find out they were not so perfect because the load was on them.
Those black and white tear jerker movies about the holidays are all fiction, made by actors, who just like all of us, and have their own problems.
Most of of are more like Clark W. Griswold. If you don't know what I'm talking about, treat yourself to this movie.
But, it seems to me the more we try for the perfect Christmas, the more we mess it up.
Please remember there is no prefect Christmas, but the one we celebrate is perfect.
That should be enough.
That's my point of view, what's yours?
