We can't afford this

What a day of news in America.

The Washington Times reports that welfare spending has grown substantially over the past four years, reaching $746 billion in 2011 - or more than Social Security, basic defense spending or any other single chunk of the federal government.

That's according to a new memo by the Congressional Research Service.

Welfare got a big boost from the 2009 stimulus.

One reason for the boost is that more people are qualifying in the weak economy, but the federal government also has broadened eligibility so that more people can qualify for programs.

The Daily Caller reported today that the government spent approximately $1.03 trillion on 83 means-tested federal welfare programs in fiscal year 2011 alone.

The weekly standard reports that in the wake of the Treasury Department's newly released summary of federal spending for 2012, it's now possible to detail just how good or bad the Obama years have been, depending on your point of view.

Here's the upshot: Under Obama, for every $7 we've had, we've spent nearly $11 (or, to be more exact, $10.95).

That's like a family that makes $70,000 a year - and is already knee-deep in debt - blowing nearly $110,000 a year.

As I have said before we need to help people who cannot help themselves, but broadening the welfare circle is not the way to have a thriving country.

We can do better than this.

Thats my point of view what's yours?

What kind of economics did neal ever study in school; well it shows. All we have to do is print more. That's what we've been doing, that's what we will keep doing. And if anyone, and I mean any country on this earth tells us our printed dollar is no good then, we'll just take a little lead and mix it with some good ol' American blood and show them our gold. {a debt our grandchildren will pay? Tell that to the kids dying in foreign lands today.}

Bruce J. Fleming county commissioner candidate who allegedly has voted in two different states in the same general elections dating back to 2006. Another case of GOP voter fraud & the blame

and corporate welfare is 3 times this figure so which should be cut ? Is our government for the people or for the corporation?

Don, does it hurt when your brain doesn't work? It's called global industrial monopoly building and it's why the Fed has crashed our economy and devalued the dollar. You should feel the most secure living off your government pension, letting this nation's acheivers take-it on the chin.

If the courts will not supress the vote for the GOP they hire people like Colin Small and companies like Strategic Allied Consulting to supress voters rights.
"GOP registration worker charged with voter fraud"
Colin Small, 31 has been arrested in Virginia and charged with throwing voter registration forms into a dumpster.

Don proudly display's his junior college education which affords him the abiity to read eighth grade media propaganda.

Guess you do not know whats propaganda and what is FACT like the arrest of the REPUBLICAN registration worker, Colin Small who was charged with voter fraud.

Look Nit-Wit, they make these arrest every election cycle to divert dummies like you away from the electronic voting machine - grow a brain .

When more are taking and less are giving there is no way for America to go but down economically. Can't tell the socialists that though, they need to see for themselves. The only thing we learn from history is that we don't learn from history.

Could not tell the Republicans that either when the pushed NAFTA through .... Remember Ross Perot telling America that there would be a big sucking sound when American Jobs left.
