We need to see what's going on

I usually don't read a lot of inside media gossip anymore.

There are many in my biz that go into business to give advice. Many are just out of work news directors trying to be relevant. But, this caught my eye today and I must say I agree 100 percent with Al Thomkins, who wrote it.

The U.S. Supreme Court is arguing right now about same-sex marriage. There are tweets about what is happening but, that's it. The craziest part of all, to me, is that America is not demanding a change.

Last year, the court decided the future of the nation's health care system.

In 2000, it effectively decided who would be president. The public can't witness these decisions being made because, as Justices Stephen Breyer and Anthony Kennedy have suggested, people might not understand the complex work of the court.

In 2007, Justice Kennedy explained his reasoning to Congress:

"…But I don't think it's in the best interest of our institution, our dynamic works. The discussions that the justices have with the attorneys during oral arguments is a splendid dynamic. If you introduce cameras, it is human nature for me to suspect that one of my colleagues is saying something for a sound bite."

We are living with a ban that was imposed even before most people had a television. The closest thing you get to being a live witness to the court's proceedings is a steady stream of tweets. How's that for a "splendid dynamic?"

More and more every day, especially with the federal government, we are the people who pay the salaries of all this royalty.

We need to see what's going on.

That's my point of view, what's yours?

charles, You are right, christian values do not apply in this country. Partly because not every person in this country believes in Jesus or the church. I do not believe we should cater to any one set belief. I respect Christians and their beliefs. Why can you not repect mine? It even says to forgive and forget in the Bible and yet 90% of Christians i meet they are self-rightous bigots who do not practice what they preach. I was a christian a long time ago, but my brain kept getting in the way.

The "dynamic" of a socialist agenda. Ruth Ginsberg stated same sex partners were being treated unfairly, denied the ability to leave an untaxed estate to their (spouse), hence the court interjects itself to decide a nations morality based upon tax parity. In the absence of an estate tax there is nothing for the government to decide. The "dynamic" of socialism is taxation, the "dynamic" of our Supreme court is to acheive tax parity. Christian values don't apply in this nation under God.

Well can't they use drones?

Now SCOTUS has been in existence since the country came about. So were tape recorders allowed before TV?

I feel we should have a transparent government (not the joke we have for 'transparency' from the Obama administration) and thus we need to see WHY SCOTUS, or congress and the White House for that matter, does what it does.

Hard to have an honest government when they hide what they do.

In trying to clear up the ‘misconceptions’ about the conduct of fusion centers, Arkansas State Fusion Center Director Richard Davis simply confirmed Americans’ fears: the center does in fact spy on Americans – but only on those who are suspected to be ‘anti-government’.
