What a difference a debate makes.

I stood right here a while back and told you none of the poll numbers mean anything until the first debate. Now that we have had that, things have reversed and it's driving the left mad.

Romney is ahead right now in most of the swing states. For the last few months, I have listened to all the juiced up polls from the New York Times and others with the president up 5-10 points.

Of course, read the fine print and the poll was executed with a Democratic slant.

The Obama campaign has poured gazillions of dollars into making Mitt Romney out to be a a Thurston Howell III type guy who cannot relate to you and me. Then last week's debate peeled the bark off things.

People who tuned in saw a guy ready with facts and didn't back down to the president a bit. Since that moment, the Romney campaign has been on the move.

It is funny to me now to see the political reports on all the cable shows read the poll results and look like they've just seen a calf with two heads.

Remember, polls are a snapshot in time. You are looking for trends just not hot spots.

But some have done their best to make people who are not pleased with the presidents performance belive there was no other choice and the presidential race was a fait a compli.

Now,.we have a horse race.

Am I saying Romney is going to win? Im not saying that.

I'm saying we have a horse race.

But, usually in every presidential election we have a horse race, and If I know it's going to happen, why can't others with more experience than me know that?

That's my point of view, what's yours?

As I watched the begining of the first debate, I observed one of the Candidates violate the very rules that both agreed to. The violation was that neither candidate was to bring notes on stage but could take notes on stationary provided. YES MITT ROMNEY REMOVED A PAPER FROM HIS COAT POCKET AND PLACED IT ON HIS PODIUM. If he can not keep his word in a Gentalmans agreement he can not be trusted to ever keep his word about anything. Mitt is a CHEATER how does that sit with you so called Christians

rghall57 if you base your vote on the religion or lack there of for any elected official, you are UN-AMERICAN AND KNOW NOTHING OF THE U.S. CONSTITUTION, TEXAS CONSTITUTION, LIBERTY OR A FREE SOCIETY. FUTHER MORE YOU ARE ALSO NOT AN EDUCATED CHRISTIAN . READ YOUR BIBLE IGNORANCE IS BLISS.

I did not see the debate because i didnt need to. I made my decision about this 4 years ago when I learned about the church Mr Obama attended. He attended a church with an america hating pastor for 20 yrs!! Thats all I needed to see to know and I would vote against him in most any case.

Rather than a horse race, a more accurate description of this debate and the election is a dog and pony show. neil sells the KETK viewers on lame media propaganda. Already, after the scripted Netanyahu-Obama "Red Line" saga, Obama will present himself in the next debate as the "peacemaker" and Romney will promote his stance of a "war hawk". Romney will lose the election and media will portray Republicans as seeking war while peace loving democrats will be forced into war. Scripted manipulation.

It's amazing voters made such a switch simply on performance of THE MUSIC MAN by Mitt Romney at the first debate. Robert Preston would have been proud!

If you aren't familiar with the movie, it's about a con man that sets out to swindle an entire town with his lively, passionate, rhetoric of promises and lies. The gullible town's people fall for it.

If voters have truly been persuaded by an impressive delivery of deceptions and reversals, then we really do have "trouble here in River City"
