What about me, the little guy

Driving through deep East Texas this weekend, I noticed the price of gasoline is even higher down there
than it is up here.
Seeing prices like this is startling, especially if you are like me and you have property to care for that is a ways away and you have equipment that takes gas or diesel.
As I drive up and down US 69 with a truck and a trailer, I wondered out loud to my wife how ridiculous it was for those to tell us we need Chevy Volts, which by the way no one is buying, and small cars that cannot get the job down on a a farm.
I was reminded back to 2008, every time the price of gasoline went up a penny those on the left howled that it was George Bush's fault.
He was from Texas and had to be in bed with all the evil oil companies.
Now that gasoline is high again, notice there is no outrage by left-wing opinion writers.
Why are they not concerned with the little guy..like me.
This administration is not a fan for drilling for new oil.
When asked why the Obama administration opposes drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar told CNSNews.com that the "drill, baby, drill program" is not going to lead the United States to energy independence.
But here is the deal Mr. secretary, while you guys dream of solar panels and windmills in the future, we have needs right now.
And we have to make out country work right now.
And how about going after all the oil speculators who are bidding for the price of oil that hasn't even been taken out of the ground?
Just asking ?
That's my point of view..what's yours?

It doesn't take much to convert a gasoline engine to run on booze, and diesel engines were originally designed to run on peanut oil--the only problem with growing our fuel at this stage is that we don't have enough land to run our engines AND feed our fat faces. If we were letting the natural free market take it's course right now with oil, we'd be paying $10 a gallon or MORE, and we'd all be driving electric by now out of necessity. Do you even realize how much we subsidize Exxon? Tax free too.
Where to start. Yes, there is a dbl std. Always has been, always will be. And we're all guilty to some extent. Higher prices are being caused by speculation, not real shortages, Adding more oil to the market won't help, but we should be producing more of our own. The catch-22, the oil companies are assuredly taking advantage of the situation, but we're buying, so it must not be too high. We need new energy sources, but gvnt programs aren't the answer, the free mrkt will create the best answers.
The "Green Party" plan is not to gain energy independence or prevent climate change, but to deny the American populas their constitutional right of free travel and property ownership by means of unaffordability. Aren't we lucky the political elite had the forethought to condition our children to the new world order with teachers consumed in socialism.
why should the government do anything.......free market. That is what all of you Republacommies cry about. If you do not like the gas prices then do not buy any cry babbies. Want your cake and eat it too.
Why not sell the oil and gasoline that the government purchased for the strategic oil reserve at $1.85 - $2.25/gal for $3.39 a gallon and give the People a tax break with the profit.
the other day i looked up white lighting, and in tennesse they are using this to fill up their cars, then i typed in alchol and did you know in 1921 the model a ford could run on 100% alchol, and a report in 1924 gm said that in the future that they can kick the oil industry to the curb because alchol is alot easier to produce and it can be made by plants all kinds of plants just not corn. so whats the hold up , mmm maybe to many greedy people in this country, lets think out side the box dd
