You really didn't expect this to work?

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
I remember a while back when Congress was fighting about the the budget.
If the entire body can't do a deal, why would any rational person think this super committee could do it any better.
What a waste of time and a joke. Another washing, kick the can down the road, blue-ribbon committee.
And the reason the can't come to a decision is that same ideological opinions they had months ago when things stalemated.
Pundits, sooth-sayers and national media cannot stand it when something is not in motion.
I have heard several people who I thought knew better have said repeatedly, when those guys go to Washington they should always be doing stuff.
Well, they have, but raising taxes and growing government is not always the answer. We've done that for 50 years.
What did they get up? A 15 trillion dollar tab and a super committee.
We are at an impasse right now and our founding father who set up this system made sure it's usually tough to get legislation through.
And now, since the super committee could not cone up with an answer, the trigger gets pulled.
One of the biggest areas affected, the Pentagon. But, not until next year. Next year is an eternity in politics.
After the election next year, lets see who wants to cut what.
And, as far as the Pentagon, I'm sure there are floors of paper pushers who we could live without.
But I don't want one bullet to evaporate from our fighting men and women.
But, don't get too bummed by the super committee.
Did anyone really think this would work?
That's my POV, what's yours?
