Prescription drug abuse: On the rise in East Texas

TYLER - A new report says prescription drug abuse is the fastest growing drug problem in the United States.
The Drug Enforcement Agency says seventy-percent of U.S. prescription drug abusers are getting their supply from a family member or out of a medicine cabinet.
Experts say the problems seems to be growing in East Texas. Catherine Wallum of the Methadone Clinic of East Texas says:
"It's a huge issue here in East Texas, it's getting bigger probably by the day. I've been here 4 years and it's doubled in size."
Tyler Police in conjunction with the DEA say they hosting a prescription take back even April 30th at Super 1 Foods 3000 W Northwest Loop 323 in Tyler from 10-2. The even is focused on collecting old or expired medication from East Texans, no questions asked.
