Prince Fielder ‘excited’ for fresh start, hitter-friendly Rangers Ballpark
Arlington — Prince Fielder didn’t need too much time to waive his no-trade clause and accept a trade to the Texas Rangers.
The five-time All-Star viewed it as an opportunity for a fresh start after last season ended poorly in Detroit with him hitting only .225, and with no home runs or RBIs in the postseason. He also felt it was in the best interest of everyone involved, with the Tigers receiving three-time All-Star Ian Kinsler in return.
