Promise of good music, good food brings out crowd to Overton Bluegrass Festival
Overton — With the scent of barbecue in the air and pickin’ and fiddlin’ on the outdoor stage, the 25th annual Overton Bluegrass Festival wrapped up Saturday afternoon at the city park.
About 100 people parked lawn chairs on the pine needle-covered hillside for a second afternoon of banjo picking, fiddle-playing enjoyment by bands such as Hickory Hill, Brand New Strings and the Coleman Brothers and Lone Star Boys.
Dave Rousseau, emcee and Saturday morning radio personality at KKUS in Tyler, was enjoying a brief respite while Breaking Grass performed.
