Lost jobs and business hardships: some of union concerns

The Lufkin Daily News is reporting; a local American Postal Workers Union member says the Postal Service’s proposed plan to shift mail processing from Lufkin to Houston poses a serious threat to mail service in East Texas.

Kalvin Mattox, local union president says “This plan for consolidation in Lufkin would cause incoming and outgoing mail to be delayed. The mail would have to be transported approximately 150 miles away before it could be processed and returned back to Lufkin and to your postal facility for delivery. This could be at least a three-day process.”
