Prosecution pursues death penalty

TYLER — Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for a 22-year-old Demontrell Miller of Tyler.

Miller is now on trial for allegedly beating his girlfriend's 2-year-old son death to death last June.

Officials say an autopsy shows the child died of blunt force trauma.

Miller claims the boy could have been hurt while he was giving CPR after finding him drowning in the tub.
