Protecting your family: millions without wills

Neal Barton/KETK News

UNDATED—Wills, guardianships, trusts and estates.

Nearly two-thirds of adults do not have a will, and most of us should, especially if you have children.

Your family lawyer, a community law center or a site like Nolo.com or LegalZoom.com can be a great place to start your will.

Costs start at $3,500.

I agree with the comments. I'm not sure who they called for a quote. I typically see it costing an individual around $400 for a will, powers of attorney, living will and a HIPAA authorization. For a living trust I usually see a $2500 fee. An attorney could charge $3500 for estate planning but it would include estate tax planning and/or special needs planning for a family member.

Whomever is charging $3500 for this is robbing people. For an attorney to do a Will, rolled into a trust, that includes a POA, and Medical wishes...WITH all filing fees costs ONLY $ 1200.00.

I know becasue my now husband and I had this done!!! Maybe your station should have looked around...

Your source is ripping off people!!
