Putting more value into your house

TYLER, TX (KETK) - — Summer is the time when the kids are out of school, and houses are on the market, and many East Texans are looking to increase the value of their homes by getting some remodeling done before they can sell their house.
Housing experts KETK spoke with say homeowners need to pay special attention to their kitchen and master bedroom.
But, even then, because you put a lot of money into your house, it's no guarantee you're going to get it all back.
With springtime and summer comes new life, free time, and a chance to finally get some housing projects started.
And with this being the peak time of the year for home buyers, many people hope those upgrades will pay off.
Experts say just changing out an air conditioning unit, or the carpet, won't get you too far with increasing your house's price.
So your best bet, is to focus on the big guns of the home, namely kitchen, which is the deal maker or breaker for most families.
And it's not just what, but who performs the remodeling that can have the largest affect.
But they say not to rush through the process, because if you get in a hurry, you may forget to actually enjoy your improvements you've made to your home.
