A strong cold front will approach Wednesday morning leading to showers and thunderstorms across East Texas.  Due to the fact that the cold front is going to move in fairly quickly,  much of East Texas may escape the worst of the severe weather. However, there can be frequent lightning, heavy rain, brief gusty winds and some hail with the thunderstorms as they move through, mainly between  7 AM and 1 PM from northwest to southeast across our area. The best chance for any tornado activity will probably be down in Deep East Texas and over in Louisiana where it will remain warm into the afternoon hours.  The good thing is that we should get a decent amount of rain after the front moves through with hopefully at least 0.50"-1.0" falling in most areas with possibly up to 2 inches in some places.

Grab your jacket before leaving the house Wednesday morning, you will need it by late afternoon. Temperatures will start out in the 70s at sunrise, but begin to drop around by lunch-time and dip all the way into the upper 40s in many areas by late afternoon as north winds at 15-25 mph behind the cold front bring another gasp from "Old Man Winter"!  Low temperatures early Thursday morning should reach the mid to upper 30s!  However, but the sun will be out both Thursday and Friday with highs recovering to the 70s on Friday and then the 80s this weekend.
