Rain Makes Farmers Smile

TYLER - This weekend's rainy weather is very good news for local farmers who have been praying for it for some time now.

The rainy weather put a damper on some people's weekend activities, but these local farmers couldn't be happier.

This weather is what many farmers like Charlie Claiborne have been waiting on for some time now.

"It rained good early, then it quit a little bit, now it's raining and it's helping," Mr. Claiborne says.

He's been farming for almost two decades out of the Jacksonville area.

His crops have been a little on the dry side, but he says after this weekend he's certain his crops will be thirsty no more.

"Oh yeah, it's going to make everything grow," Mr. Claiborne says happily.
