Rainfall boosts area lake health

East Texas — Northeast Texas lake levels continued to climb Tuesday, fed by rivers and streams carrying run-off from heavy rains across the region during the past month.
“All good news there, although we did have some minor flooding from the last front, mainly in Northern Louisiana and Deep East Texas,” said National Weather Service Meteorologist Matt Hemingway. “Overall, it’s been a well-needed rain. Lakes and rivers are back up to respectable levels, and hopefully will keep going that way throughout the rest of the year.”
