Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky has donated $10,000 to the New Hampshire Republican Party, stoking further speculation he is eyeing a run for president.

The donation will be announced publicly on Monday hours before Paul headlines a state GOP fundraising dinner in Concord. Nearly 500 people will attend the fundraiser, which will also feature Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus. The dinner is sold out.

New Hampshire Republican Party Chairwoman Jennifer Horn described Paul as "a strong Republican voice for limited government" and said he will be thanked for his donation at the dinner.

Paul is one of many Republicans considering a run for the White House and the second to visit the Granite State in recent weeks, home to the first-in-the-nation primary. Earlier this month, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal attended a fundraiser for New Hampshire Senate Republicans.

Paul, who appeared at an Iowa GOP fundraiser the same night Jindal appeared in New Hampshire, is the first potential candidate to make a contribution to the New Hampshire Republican Party.
