Rangers lose Opening Day slugfest

The Rangers and Phillies combined to score 24 runs on Opening Day.

Philadelphia had more.

The Phillies beat the Rangers Monday at Globe Life Park, 14-10.

Tanner Scheppers made his first Major League start and he struggled.

He walked three and gave up a grand slam in the top of the second inning.

Scheppers went just four innings.

He gave up seven earned runs on eight hits.

Scheppers threw 93 pitches.  Only 51 were for strikes.

Alex Rios ripped a three-run home run for the Rangers.

Josh Wilson added a three-run double.

The Phillies hit three home runs against the Rangers.
