Recent Lufkin arsons spark elected officials into starting a neighborhood watch

Lufkin ,Tx — A Lufkin council member and an Angelina County commissioner are working to form a neighborhood watch program in North Lufkin.
Council member Robert Shankle said he and Angelina County Commissioner Kenneth Timmons are trying to form an organization in response to multiple arson and attempted arson incidents that have occurred this week in North Lufkin neighborhoods. A community meeting will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Lewis Toran Retirement Center, 1012 Kurth Drive in Lufkin.
