Record numbers turnout in Tyler

TYLER – smith County officials are expecting a record turnout at the polls. Early voting numbers were historic for this area.
All day people have been showing up to their polling sites. Election officials report they have had a steady stream of voters all day. They also say they expect the busiest time to be around 5:00 p.m.
At the Smith County Annex in Tyler, many other election volunteers have been manning the phones, making sure all voters have their questions answered.
The polls don’t close in Smith County until 7:00 p.m.
There were nearly 50,000 people who voted early. Election officials suspect at least 45,000 will vote today.
