Red Light Cameras: Good, Bad, Helpful or Hindrance?
November 11, 2009 - 8:31am
Tyler—
East Texans sound-off on the town of College Station and voters decision to rid the town of red light cameras.

Red light cameras are just like state inspection stickers-just another way to collect taxes. These companies suppling these cameras are getting rich. Many studies have shown increasing the yellow light time by a couple of seconds will have the same effect.Rearend collisions also increase with red light cameras. Inspection stickers are a waste of time also. 99.9% of all accidents are caused by driver stupidity not mechanical failure.

5 months agoThe idea of using traffic cameras is well-intentioned but it has a flaw: the owner of a ticketed car is not necessarily the driver. From loaning a vehicle to multi-family autos, it is simply impossible for a camera to determine who the guilty driver may be.
