TYLER, TEXAS (KETK) — Pre 1973 classic cars and trucks revved up on Saturday in Bullard for the Red, White & Blue Classic Car Show.
Mike Balfay, Red, White & Blue Classic Car Show organizer tells KETK, the car show was held in honor of the Veterans Day holiday, and proceeds go toward the Wounded Warriors Project.
The Bullard High School Panther Band led the parade.
"It's a family outing---we have carnival rides and vendors booth," says Mike Balfay, Car Show Organizer.
East Texans got to enjoy the cars from the past.
A veteran from Chandler gave us a look at his 1972 Corvette Stringray."350 Small block 4-speed and you got T-tops, got this from up North,” say Tom Goutler, classic car owner.
The car show took the Nelsons down memory lane. In 1953, they bought their first car in Longview, a 1964 Ford Fairlane 500.
The Nelsons shared photos of their classic with KETK, and tell us they just celebrated their 50th Anniversary and the car show is bringing back their best memories.
“We drove our car out of the showcase on Highway 80 in Longview," says Darlene Nelson.
It was a day of history, classics and good times.
