TISD Superintendent Randy Reid is leaving the district.
He will be taking over the Keller School District north of Fort Worth.
Randy Reid’s 5 year tenure as the TISD Superintendent is about to come to a close.
Succeeding David Simmons in the job, Reid has seen his share of tough challenges.
The stabbing death of John Tyler teacher Tod Henry was a crisis that shook the district and the community.
Reid also saw the last bond issue through to approval.
School Board member Brad Spradlin says, he was taken by surprise.
And there are several issues Reid will leave behind.
One is the next bond issue and the district’s new long range plan.
And the class action suit against the state over school funding.
But is Reid breaking his contract, and how will that be handled?
“There is a clause in the contract that he can break the contract or move to another district,” Spradlin told KETK. “ If he breaks the contract then we don’t have to pay any balance or anything like that.”
The search for a successor is underway.
