New York — Today marks the 71st anniversary of Pearl Harbor, the day the Japanese launched a surprise air attack on the United States.
More than 2,300 Americans died that day.
Today, there will be a memorial parade in Waikiki.
In New York, local Pearl Harbor survivors will commemorate the anniversary with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum.
The museum is still closed due to damage from Hurricane Sandy.
