Tyler, TX — It's a sad day to be a Chapel Hill 'Bulldog', and a difficult time for family and friends of Christopher Mass.
KETK spoke to a friend of the family and visited former school where he's being remembered tonight, and spoke to former classmates and the community...
They are shocked to hear about the mall shooting and loss of Christopher Mass.
"It's a sad day to be a Bulldog," former Chapel Hill student.
Chapel Hill Alumni of 2008, Christopher Mass, will be remembered by the East Texas community, as a son, family member, friend and valuable athlete.
KETK was at the scene where Christopher's life ended. Family and friends were lost for words.
"Chris was just at the wrong place at the wrong time this right here wasn't suppose to happen," says Charlean Mosely, family friend.
"I knew Chris Mass growing up, I went to school with him and to hear such news, it's pretty devastating to hear that," Jon' Kayla Smith, Chapel Hill Alumni '09.
"It's a horrible thing that Tyler had to witness something like that, you know for Chris Mass to be gunned down, over an altercation... It's very sad, and it's horrible timing, today is a hard day to be a bull dog," says Rashid Hill, Chapel High Alumni '87.
While many are remembering Christopher Mass, the same day, many gathered at Chapel Hill to support and pray for Doriene Timmons, Chapel Hill freshmen, who's suffering from a brain injury.
"We're here for the benefit for Doriene Timmons and then to hear about Chris Mass this morning it saddens my heart," Shanita Brown.
There was a moment of silence at Chapel Hill.
Doriene Timmons made a surprise visit.
"I'm glad I saw him because i didn't know when I'd get the chance to," Matthew Turner, Chapel Hill Freshman.
Now, the community is now praying for two bulldogs.
