Residents participate in tea parties across East Texas

LONGVIEW - Hundreds of people covered the front lawn of the Gregg County Courthouse to to make their voices heard at Longview's "tea party."
Betty Langford said, "My slogan is this "listen to the tax payers, listen to us."
John David Wright also spent the afternoon protesting and he said, "We're out here today because we feel like the spending that's taking place the last few weeks is way out of hand."
But not everyone is upset about paying taxes, they just want to know where their money is going.
Langford said, "We are paying taxes and I'm so proud to pay them but I want to be apart of knowing where its going and how its being used."
One of the main focuses of the day was leaving too much debt in the hands of the next generation.
Others are concerned with the future of our country.
Wright said, "I've heard President Obama campaign to change but what I'm fearing is we are getting further away from God."

Why is everyone so surprised at Obama's spending? Before the election it was obvious he was a socialist. Thats what a socialist does. Take from those who produce and give it away to others. Then tax tax tax and spend spend spend. So many wanted this change. Now we have it.

It is apparent that the USA has strayed.
I've heard some say that the Tea Parties are really just anti-Obama rallies...I hope most people can see those comments for what they REALLY are...an attempt to diminish what is really going on!! People are deeply concerned and doing what they can to demonstrate that concern.
That's why I really appreciate the work of Grassroots America We the People! They have set as their priority to TEACH people what to do to take back their country!! We need to better understand how we got here which will arm us to get out of it!!
