Two construction projects are filling in vacant corners along a busy stretch of Marshall Avenue in Longview.

The second Advance Auto Parts store in Longview is building at the corner of Marshall Avenue and Green Street. And a Cash Express store is nearing completion a few blocks west, at Center Street and Marshall Avenue.

Steven Davis, district manager for Advance Auto Parts, said construction of the new $4.2 million outlet is an effort to take better care of customers in the center of town.

Advance’s other Longview store is at 4006 W. Marshall Ave., near the intersection of Loop 281 and Marshall Avenue.

“Business is good; we are always looking at ways of meeting our customer needs in a quicker way. It felt like a way to take care of them,” Davis said.

The 10,000-square-foot building, being constructed by Sheridan Inc., will be staffed by about 10 employees and house about 35,000 parts for commercial and private customers.
