Longview — Gun stores across Northeast Texas are out of much of their ammunition, and store owners say it will be a long time before their shelves are stocked again.

“It’s bad right now. People have bought up what we have in the inventory, and the wholesalers don’t have anything to order,” said Frank Baggett, owner of Pro-Tek guns in Kilgore. “With them not having anything, we can’t replace anything we have sold.”

In Longview, James Godell of The Gun Doctor said some people call the store every day asking for their favorite ammo, which he doesn’t have in stock.
