A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Thursday afternoon for the new 31,000 square foot Henderson Police Department.

Construction of the new police department took a little over a year. It's almost double the size of the old statio and it has a serene view of the water at Lake Forest Rark.

The two-story building has the latest computer technology and crime-solving tools.

It features two large, open rooms which will be used for training.

Chief  Ronnie Walker says the department is enjoying their new home very much.

" It's gotta bring morale up.. I know it's brought mine up..you know I love comin' to work..and to look at the view of the lake..the ducks..and actually about a month ago we saw an eagle out here..which is pretty unusal..pretty special..we thought that might have been an omen of good luck."

The police department was in the old station since 1999.
