A Tyler man was arrested Saturday night for a case of road rage carried a bit too far.
Police arrested Craig Colin Ashmore for pulling a gun on another driver during a roadway spat.
It happened near the intersection of Loop 323 near East Fifth Street, when Ashmore was allegedly cut off by another driver.
The driver claims Ashmore pulled a rifle from his seat and pointed it at him, so he followed Ashmore to a house in the 1100 block of Skyline St. in Tyler, where he called the police and Ashmore was arrested.
Don Martin with the Tyler Police Department says it's always better to call them first, rather than try to take matters into your own hands.
"Don't take it into your own hands," Don Martin says. "You don't know what the other person's capable of if they have a firearm in their vehicle. Just that little bit of road rage is certainly not worth losing your life over if it's taken that far."
Ashmore is charged with aggravated assault, and was taken to the Smith County jail.
He's since been released on bond.
