TYLER - Rocket docket, that is what one East Texas county is calling their new system to help alleviate the crowded jails. It's no secret, the Smith county jail is over-loaded and, that has been a problem for years.

So, what does the county do with too many inmates? Angelina county has a similar problem. They've found their own way to fix their problem. One East Texas Justice of the Peace says, too many people are sitting in jail holding up the system.

While Angelina county is already using the rocket-docket other counties are not. A quicker justice system seems like a great idea, but officials say it's not perfect. Authorities say repeat offenders can slip through the cracks.
