Rockets show signs of progress in blowout win against Celtics
Houston — There was a time when James Harden’s beard was stubble. Jeremy Lin was once anonymous. Los Angeles loved Dwight Howard. Things change.
It’s possible, however, that none of those transformations was as great as the reversal of the Rockets’ play to open games, going from the slop with which they began games early in the season to the sudden surges since last week’s lineup change.
Since power forward Terrence Jones moved into the starting lineup, the Rockets have gone from routed to rolling to open games, taking that to a ridiculous extreme Tuesday night as they pounced on the Boston Celtics from the opening tip to win 109-85 at Toyota Center.
