Tampa, Fla. — Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney paid about $3 million in federal income taxes in 2010, having earned more than seven times that from his investments. His $21.7 million income makes him among the wealthiest of American taxpayers.
At the same time, Romney gave nearly $3 million to charity - about half of that to the Mormon Church - which helped lower his effective tax rate to a modest 14 percent.
Romney's campaign released some details about the former Massachusetts governor's taxes in 2010 and 2011 after Monday night's debate in Tampa, Fla. Official are planning to release more information Tuesday morning.
Romney's GOP opponents have been pressuring him in recent weeks to release his tax returns.

Loved his roundtable photo op with folks who were experiencing difficulties in today's economy...he looked so sympathetic, so touched by their stories. Nice try, williard!! This man is totally disconnected with ordinary people, with his mega-million dollar homes, his privileged lifestyle...all repub candidates are dangerous and have no clue about the rest of us!
