Art enthusiasts, there's a lot to be seen this summer at the Tyler Museum of Art. A new exhibition kicked off on Sunday. The past and present is what visitors will see when they walk through the exhibition at the Tyler Museum of Art.

Executive Director, Chris Leahy of TMA says this summer through the rose festival "Goodnight Rose City" a new children's book published by the Junior League of Tyler will be sharing a story on the walls page by page.

"Women of the Junior League wrote it and was to tell a story of all things that were important to them about this great city of Tyler,” said Leahy.

The Junior League founded the TMA in 1971 and wanted to display Rose City memories.

"The old pictures came form the Smith County Historical Society, and Tiffany Wright there did a lot of work helping us dig through many rolls of old photos to get just the right images,” said Leahy.

While being taken back, the Summer Art Camp has started for kids. This week, July 14-18, kids ages 10-12 are thinking creatively telling their stories without words.

"Kids approach how they would draw themselves and how they would draw you if you we re sitting across from them,” said Leahy.

Leahy says, it's a great learning experience."At the end of the camp, it will run for a week, and on Fridays we ask the parents to come in have kind of a graduation exercise for them for the camp,” said Leahy.

Giving kids the opportunity to host their own exhibition.
