More than 300 triathletes are expected to compete in the fourth Annual Rose City Triathlon. Competitors will range from first-time triathletes to experienced elite triathletes.
The Rose City Triathlon has been honored to be selected as the host site for the USA Triathlon South Midwest Region's Sprint Championship.
The Rose City Triathlon will be held at Lake Tyler West, near the marina, on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 8:00 a.m. At 6:00 a.m. the transition area will open and at 7:30 a.m., the swim start wave staging will begin. Athletes will face a 650-meter swim in Lake Tyler, a 14.1-mile scenic bike ride through beautifully shaded, rolling hills, and a 3 mile run. Spectators can view the entire swim and run course.
Hosted by East Texas Triathletes, this USA Triathlon sanctioned event benefits Hospice of East Texas. An award winning event, the Rose City Triathlon has been selected by the USAT Triathlon South Midwest region as "Favorite Triathlon" in past years.
