Rose Festival brings big money to Tyler

TYLER - We'll it's that time of year again when people from all over the nation and even the world come to Tyler to celebrate the annual Rose Festival. And with all of these people in town, means Tyler is seeing more revenue come in.
The festival brings in the most revenue each year than any other festival, city officials said. If you include hotel, gas, food and money actually spent at the festival, we're looking at around $2.8 million. And surprisingly, the current state of the economy is likely to work in our favor, instead of against us.
"We're expecting about 80,000 visitors to attend the Rose Festival this year," Justin Turner with the City of Tyler said. "Maybe a little more due to the economy."
