UPDATE: Rusk County Sheriff Danny R. Pirtle would like to advise that a 34-year-old white male suspect has been arrested for the murder of 76-year-old Rusk County resident Eugene Snitker.

The suspect who was arrested out of the area on a 1st degree murder warrant will be identified after his arraignment on this charge.

Sheriff Pirtle would like to thank the Texas Rangers office, Smith County Sheriff Office Crime Scene Unit, Rusk County District Attorney investigator and the Hutchins Police Department for their efforts while helping the Rusk County Sheriff Office resolve this crime.

It is the cooperation of law enforcement agencies that expedite the resolution of cases.

The Rusk County Sheriff Office will continue to utilize all resources available when the citizens of Rusk County become victims of crime.

REKLAW - The Rusk County Sheriff's Office is investigating a Homicide in the Reklaw community.

The incident occured at Rusk County Road 4276D off Highway 84.

Officials will be releasing more information at 11 a.m..
