Rusk County officials oppose effort to raise timber truck weights

Henderson — The Rusk County Commissioners Court on Monday took a hard stand against legislation that would increase weight limits for timber trucks using county roads and bridges.
Commissioners unanimously passed a resolution to “strongly oppose” House Bill 777.
“Our roads are taking a pretty good beating as it is,” said Pct. 4 Commissioner Harold Howell. “What this bill is proposing is not in the best interests of our residents.”
