A recent drug initiative in Rusk County leads to the arrest of six people.

Sheriff Jeff Price says narcotics is the fastest growing problem in the county but thanks to 'Operation Ice Storm' he says some of the county's largest drug dealers are off the streets.

'Operation Ice Storm' began on June 16th when officers arrested Jonathan Swindell and Traci Berry. Deputies say they found meth and ecstasy at Swindell's home.

Thee days later, Jerry Warren and Amanda Dickerson were taken into custody after authorities found meth, a stolen TV and a stolen motorcycle at Warren's house.

The latest arrests came last Monday, when deputies say they found Curtis Howard and James Dennis in possession of meth, ecstasy, marijuana, five illegal firearms and stolen cash.

Sheriff Price says narcotics is a large problem in the county.

"Most of your crimes are tied back to narcotics..most of your thefts..your burglaries are tied to the narcotics industry..they get hooked on the narcotics..they want it they gotta get the money they go and they steal and they break in to places..and find anyway..they can to get the buy their drugs."

Price says he wants to thank everyone who helped the investigation by calling in tips to Crimestoppers.
