Rusk — One person was killed Wednesday in an early morning wreck on Highway 69 in Cherokee County.

Officials say 20-year old Matthew Tanner Lowry, of Rusk, was headed south on 69 around 2:45 a.m. when he lost control and flipped his car, throwing him from vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
