SMITH COUNTY-Though some states are having problems with voter fraud, East Texans dealing with our ballot boxes, say that's not a problem here.
That's because of the way the state handles the registration process, all registration information is sent to the Secretary of State's office in Austin.
Your name, drivers license and date of birth are all verified and cross-referenced before voter registration cards are mailed out.
"In Smith County I can speak for that, we haven't seen any of the voter registration duplication that you're hearing about elsewhere," says Elections Administrator, Karen Chaney.
Early voting across Texas starts Monday:
October 20th 8am-5pm
Extended hours starting:
October 27th 7am-7pm
The main location is the Smith County Annex Building but you can also vote at the other locations listed on your screen.
