Safety lapses at East Texas Regional Airport lead to federal fine
Longview — A $44,000 fine paid by Gregg County in February wrapped up a 19-month federal investigation into safety deficiencies identified at East Texas Regional Airport by FAA inspectors in August 2011.
The fine arose from a certification inspection that uncovered multiple instances of noncompliance at the airport with federal safety regulations.
Gregg County Judge Bill Stoudt described the FAA’s concerns as administrative.
