Sammy Morris joins Cowboys
Sammy Morris figured he had played his last NFL game.
The running back with 11 seasons of NFL experience was simply
staying in shape when he got a call this week from the Dallas
Cowboys, the team coached for his former teammate Jason Garrett.
When Cowboys rookie sensation DeMarco Murray broke his right ankle, the Cowboys (7-6) needed another running back to go with Felix Jones. Phillip Tanner was put on injured reserve last week with a hamstring injury.
The 34-year-old Morris joins Dallas after being cut at the end of training camp after four seasons with New England.
