Tyler, Tx — It's July 25th and for some that's just another day, while others celebrate it as a holiday.

Since Winter falls in July in the Southern hemisphere many people down under start celebrating Christmas in the Summertime rather than December.

However in America, many businesses adopted the fun idea and started offering sales for people to start Christmas shopping early.

Here in East Texas it wasn't so much the people that were celebrating, as it was the stores.

Many businesses are promoting their July sales and have started promoting layaways.

Cheryl Turner from Jim's Jewelers told KETK that once a year they have their biggest sale and have a layaway so people can come put things aside so and get it in time for Christmas.

Other stores like Target and Toys R Us also hold big sales during the month of July for families who want to get a jump start on their kids Christmas wish list.

Reports show that more than 1 in 10 US adults begin shopping for Christmas come July.

The 25th comes just weeks after the Fourth of July and stores spend nearly the whole month promoting sales.

So if you are looking to save money it looks like your best bet is to start shopping now!
