Kilgore College will receive a newly endowed scholarship during a short ceremony on Wednesday at Martin Resource Management Corporation in Kilgore.

The presentation will take place at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 7. Martin Resource Management Corporation is located at 4200 B Stone Road, in Kilgore.

The $15,000 “Joe Hightower-Sharon Hendrix International Student Scholarship” is being created in memory of Joe Hightower, who died as a result of injuries sustained in a Longview auto accident Dec. 1.

Martin Resource Management Corporation donated remaining funds to complete the $15,000 scholarship.

His widow, Sharon, is an employee of Martin Resource Management Corporation and has asked donations to be made to the KC Foundation in Joe’s memory.
