Tyler, Texas (KETK) — Obamacare is one of the most controversial topics.
Republican leaders want Republican lawmakers to use all tactics to defund Obamacare.
"Now is the single time to defund Obamacare," says Texas Senator,Ted Cruz.
October 1, 2013, is when the Affordable Health Care Act goes into effect, but some lawmakers are against it.
Texas Senator, Ted Cruz spoke in Dallas and New Hampshire last week. Cruz describes what our country 's workforce would be like, he says, Obamacare isn't working.
"Obamacare is the number one job killer in America," says Cruz.
On Sunday, on CNN's State of the Union, Senator Cruz says, the House of Representatives should not fund Obamacare or what Cruz calls 'The Killer Health Care Law'.
"We want to keep the government open, we have voted to keep the government open to fund the government... why is President Obama threatening to shut down the government down to force Obamacare down throats of the American people," says Cruz.
East Texans say, our country can't afford it.
"It's going to cost our country a lot of money that we can't afford it, it's going to cost a lot of people their job's, you still don't know what's on it, there's so much paperwork involved it's kind if like tax code no one is going to be able to understand it," Harold Collier, of Tyler, Cruz supporter.
KETK spoke to Grassroots America 'We the People'. Director JoAnn Fleming tells us, she supports Cruz all the way.
"The House needs to pass that bill that will fund everything in the government except Obamacare," says Fleming.
CNN reports, there aren't enough Republican votes to make Cruz's mission a reality.
41 Senators or 218 Representatives are needed to back his legislation.
"The House writes the rules on funding the government so the House can undo any of the rules that's already done," says Fleming.
She says, this is a disaster for the economy.
