The Cherokee County Commissioners Court is becoming decidedly frosty lately with one member under investigation, and the rest voting against her.
 

Meanwhile, a probe continues into her actions in paving a questionable county road.
 

Cherokee County Commissioners dealt Precinct 3 Commissioner Katherine Pinotti what could be a setback.
But she doesn’t see it that way.
 

And the whole thing swirls around a lousy road that needed a new surface.
 

But in politics, nothing is that simple…
It’s all about a road called Patterson, and a request to Commissioner Pinotti to do something about it.
 

The County says it’s a private road, and cannot be maintained by county funds. Pinotti says, her research shows it’s mislabeled and is actually county road 3427.
 

That has triggered an investigation. The Sheriff’s Department went to Pinotti’s county office and seized her computer and other records.
 

The evidence they find will be presented to the District Attorney and in turn, possibly to a grand jury.
Meanwhile, at Monday’s Commissioner’s Court meeting, the court voted on the issue, and ruled the road is private.
 

Precinct 1 Commissioner Kelly Traylor presented the evidence to the court, contending it is not a county road.
 

“The Commissioner’s Court voted that Patterson Lane and/or Dream Lane is not a county road and never has been a county road,” Traylor told us. “And if it’s a private road, the county does not bear any responsibility there.”
 

Neither Pinotti, nor her lawyer David Bush agree that the issue is settled. In fact, it may just be more complicated now.
 

“I guess all that I could say is that by no means is the issue resolved,” Pinotti says.
 

“The vote of the Commissioners does not resolve or close the issue,” says Bush. “We are working with all parties to investigate and resolve the issue regarding what are proper county roads and the fact that Patterson Lane is a county road in Cherokee County.”
 

Sheriff’s investigators say they should have all the evidence ready for the district Attorney by the end of the week.
